    “I usually don’t, the vampires are good at putting out fires. They like their forest.” They walked out of the forest, going towards the black car that stood by the road. “Besides, if services knew what lived in that forest..” The thought of the world against him made him shiver. “All hell would break loose.” He opened the car door, helping her in. "Hope Patrick’s okay. He did come with his own car, he better not mess up driving." Pete got in, starting the car and driving. “So, how’d you even get caught up in that mess of vampires? Seems like a person like you could handle herself in any situation but that.” He chuckled, reminding himself of Patrick.

"It was about three in the morning. I got kicked out of another shelter again. Yeah, that's right- I'm homeless. If you have a problem with it then I can leave." She kept going hoping he would not care. "As I was walking down north St Louis Avenue someone grabbed me. I woke up tied to a tree. That's about it."

    “Oh man, I’m sorry. If you want, you can stay with me. I’ve got a pretty big room.” He turned into the city entrance, looking for home base. “My friend probably will be pissed, but as long as you don’t cause trouble- which I doubt you will- you can stay.” Pete looked at her and quickly flashed a comforting smile. “If that’s cool with you.” He parked in the garage, getting out of the car. I hope she stays - it’ll be nice to finally have some company.

Rebel got out of the car and looked it over. She stopped at the hood. It had a large heart and skull on the hood. It reminded her that you can always find love in darkness. Then she looked back at Pete. A smile came on her face. One that she fought to make. It may have been one of the few times she had smiled. "This is a badass car." Then her thought turned to his offer.



"Only if I get to crash in your room. But hands off." She still did not trust him. Or these guys he rooms with. "And I hot shower and some food would be nice. Come to think of it, I have not eaten in a few days. Am used to it. But ya I can crash here."

    Pete chuckled. “I like my car too.” He walked over to the door with her. “We’ll get you settled in, it’ll be awesome.” Don’t do anything stupid, got it? He quickly nodded to himself before opening the basement door, letting them both in. “Do ya want something now, or just to get settled? My room is this one.” He pointed to the black door, opening it a little and allowing her inside. “Sorry if it’s a bit dark, I like it that way, I suppose.”
