Patrick walked into the hospital room were the girl lay. He held a bouquet of bright daisy with an orange ribbon around the clear vase. He did not know which flower to get, but she looked like a daisy person. In the other hand he held his gibson J-200 studio acoustic guitar. He wore a black flat cap and black tee with a black leather jacket over it. And a pair of plain black pants.

    It pained him to see her like this. Her leg was in a cast and held up by rope over the bed. She was asleep and peaceful. Patrick looked at her and wondered what he was doing here. He had saved other women before. So why did he want to see her again. He placed the flowers at her bedside table. And sat in a chair next to her. The doctor said that she had not woken up from surgery. He wondered if she would remember him. Her cries of pain still rang in her ears.

"I hate to feel helpless," He said. "And seeing you like this. The only thing I can do is sing if it will take away your pain."

Patrick placed his guitar on his lap and started to play and sang softly. He sang a Band Perry song. His soft smooth voice filled the room.

    Alexis could hear his voice, that voice… It was the person who found her… But she couldn’t say anything, she couldn’t open her eyes… She wanted to thank him, to look at his kind face. But she could only sleep. She sighed in her head. “Why is it so hard to WAKE MYSELF UP?!?!?! GET UP LAZY BUTT!!!” She shook herself, willing the body to move. Slowly but surely, there was a white light. “YESS!!” She walked up, getting a closer look…


    Alexis slowly opened her eyes. It was bright. Too bright. She moved her hand over the light, helping her eyes. “Where am I?” She cautiously sat up, noticing her ankle suspended above her. “It was already healed as soon as I got to the hospital, but the bruising…” She knew she still couldn’t walk, even if her ankle was healed. Too much swelling that even she couldn’t calm down. Then she saw him. The voice. A man..? “Who are you? Am I in a hospital?” She immediately remembered last night, the vampires… “Oh god, they’re gonna kill me, they’re gonna KILL ME!” She started sobbing, hiding herself as best she could, knowing her fate.

    But she felt hands, warm hands, hold her own. She looked at him. “For just a stranger, he seems very kind… and cute…” She blushed slightly, but she sighed and looked down immediately. “Thank you for the comfort, but I already know what will become of me…” Another tear slipped down her cheek.

Patrick saw that she was starting to move and placed the guitar on the floor. She woke up confused. "It is okay. My name is Patrick I was the one who took you out of the woods. And yes you are in the hospital. Your legs is in a cast and..." He was cut of when she started to cry about their going to kill her. He guessed she was still in shock. Being kidnapped by vampires was rough. And finding out they are real is worse.

Patrick took her hands into his, looking into her frighten eyes. He gave a boyish smile when he saw her blush. But her mood turned darker. "Look your safe now. We killed most of them. They can not hurt you anymore." He wanted to say he would see to that himself. He would protect her. But thought it would sound weird.

"The only fate you have is to rest and get better. And maybe tell me your name." Great hit on someone in a hospital. Nice job Patrick. He thought. He squeezed her hand tighter, rubbing his thumb over her hand. He hoped it would offer her comfort. Why was he so concerned with a women he had just met. It was not normal. It only happened in movies and books. Not real life.

    Alexis sighed, and chuckled. “I am Alexis.” She lied back, calming down. “Thank you for helping me leave, but I fear for your sake more than mine. Don’t stay with me. You have to go, they will surely hurt you much worse.” She was more worried for this man. So small, so fragile… “How did you even find me in that forest? I fainted, I couldn’t have been visible at all.” She tried to get comfortable, to relax.. but the worry clawed at her, made her colder and more scared. “Listen, please don’t worry for me. You will be in grave danger if you do.” She sighed, realizing that even if she did leave an get better, she had no place to go. She looked up and noticed him packing and leaving, him understanding her wishes. “Wait!” He looked back. “I.. I do need help finding a place though. They kidnapped me and took all my stuff, so I don’t have much anymore.” She sighed, looking down. “It’s okay if you can’t help me, but I am thankful for you saving me.” She smiled lightly at him.

Patrick could not have imaged what she had been through. Her eyes where so beautiful to show such fear. He had heard horror stories of what vampires do to their victims. He has even walked in on a few. The thought made him shiver.

"I was tracking them. And you have nothing to worry about, I can handle myself, Alexis. Under this hat and glasses, am Batman." He always tried to find light in dark moments. And his body guard was half vampire. But he was not telling her that. He thought. What am I doing Stump. I should just leave her. She will heel. probably have to have a psychologist. He grabbed his guitar and smiled at her.

She would never forget the vampires as the memory of him would fade. That thought pained him the most. Was he falling in love with her. That was crazy. He just met her. But if he did give into his feelings, well she put it best. Being with him would put her in danger.

He was about to leave when she called to him wait. He looked at her sadly, pushing his hat up. "Yes?" She wanted somewhere to stay? If he took her back to his place what would the guys say. It is a secret hideout. It would break his rule of no girls downstairs. And what if she was used as a pawn to get to him. Pete would be pissed. But then again Pete was always pissed.

She was hurt and would need someone to look after her since she did not have anyone. The next words came out of his mouth before he realized it. "I can not stand it seeing those pretty eyes sad, Sure. If you would allow me. I will take care if you Alexis. I can protect you."

    Alexis giggled, noticing that his words came out before his mind could catch up. “Thank you, it is much appreciated.” She motioned him forward and gave him a hug. “I’ll see you tomorrow. I’m getting tired, I’m going to sleep.” He replied, shyly kissing her cheek before leaving and turning off the lights. She leaned back and looked up at the grey ceiling, feeling her eyes close slowly. I can’t fall for him, it would be too much danger. But his voice, his eyes… Alexis fell asleep, thoughts crazy about Patrick.
