As soon as she fell she'd attempted to put some distance between her at the bloodthirsty vampires, pushing herself backward until her back was to a tombstone. She had no where to go, she was trapped and outnumbered. She wasn't even sure her message had been heard before the phone was sent out of reach. Her fate was certain to her, her back being against the tombstone was some form of grim irony. A fitting end to her life she thought as one of the vampires, a tall male with a sickening smile and a mocking chuckle, advanced toward her. I'll end the way I lived... The punchline of some bad joke the universe keeps telling. She couldn't help but smirk at her own thoughts. But at least I gave Patrick a chance.
She was almost ready to accept whatever gruesome death happened next when the last thing she thought would happen did. She was saved. She saw it out of the corner of her eye at first, a flash of red on the roof of one of the nearby mausoleums. She wasn't quite sure if what she'd seen was real, but then it all happened so fast. Again there was a flash of red and the vampire intent on making her his next meal fell, then another was sent flying. She heard a voice asking if she was alright, but she was too surprised to answer. Then she saw his face, so full of genuine concern for her wellbeing. He was a complete stranger to her, but something in those hazel eyes-
The moment was short-lived as the man took on yet another vampire. She was snapped back into reality in the moment he snapped the vampire's neck. She had to get up. She had to survive this. "I'm alright." She said as she got to her feet. She pulled out her knife and kept an eye on the snarling creatures around them, waiting for one to make the first move. She looked over to him, his fiery hair catching the moonlight in a most peculiar way. She'd never seen anyone like him. "Who are you...?"
