A small breeze blows in the wind. A man opens a window, letting the wind flow through the room and onto his face. There’s a shuffling of movement, and the man sits down again. He is working on a sword, making sure that the handle fits just right, good enough for his best friend. He wants to make sure that the little dork can keep himself alive, long enough for all this to be over. But the man senses something, and he looks up. “Oh,” he looks at you, sensing your presence. “Didn’t see you there.” You try to reply, but no sound will come out. “Nonono, it’s okay. you don’t have to talk. Just listen, alright?” You shrug, and nod. “Cool. Well, my name’s Pete.” He sits down in the chair, and allows you to sit on the couch. “I’m pretty old, 36.But pretty okay for a vampire.” You smile, interested in his words. “Oh,” he chuckles. “Yeah. I am a vampire. Well, more like half vampire. But still. It’s awesome. I can do a lot more than most humans can, which is so much fun!” He laughs, you nodding in agreement. “But yeah… Hey, listen. I gotta keep working on this. Maybe tomorrow?” You nod, shaking his hand. To your surprise, he pulls you quickly into a hug. “Thanks. You smell nice.” He chuckles, feeling you slightly tense up. But he lets go, and allows you to leave. As you fade away, you look at him one more time. He’s working again, only this time it’s on something else. At the last second, he quickly flips up a paper so that you can see the words clearly.
"See you on the flip side,
Pete"
