So there I was, just chilling like some weirdo on top of a roof - dangling my feet off the edge of this 20 story building when I noticed this girl walking past. Definitely not the first one for the night. She smelled so good. I had to line up every inch of self control to keep myself from jumping off and hunting her down. I've been starving for more than a week now. Being on tour and keeping this all secret from the guys wasn't that easy. I could smell her sweet scent from all the way up here, carried away by the wisp of wind blowing in the night air.
I closed my eyes, willing myself to stay calm before hearing a blood curdling scream, snapping me back to reality. I noticed where it was coming form the minute I opened my eyes - everything echoing around me. I jumped up onto my haunches, searching for who ever could be in distress - locating the girl that had just walked past, wrestling with four brutes who were vigorously tugging her around like some useless rag doll. I couldn't take it. I launched myself off the building, just out of sight before charging into them. The last thing I saw was her covering her face with her arms as I relentlessly beat them up, leaving them scurrying away like some sewer rats as I turned to face her. She was scared as hell, shaking like a leaf.
I couldn't tell if she was cold or scared - I couldn't even remember when was the last time I could feel the temperature outside. Being an immortal had it's perks - weather wasn't one of them... winter or summer, it all felt the same to me. The wind blew her hair while she uncovered her face, her scent overwhelming me as she looked at me in awe. I knew I had to leave.
I smiled at her, making sure she was all right before turning to leave - disappearing down the closest alleyway as I made my way back to the tour bus before they suspect that I might be missing.
I guess it was going to be vermin for dinner - again.
